CinchList FAQ

Answering your most burning questions (about this site... let's not get carried away)

How private are private lists?

Pretty private. If it's marked as private, it won't be publicly visible. It will only be accessible by the super top-secret edit link.

Can you tell me more about these top-secret links?

Each list is given a unique ID that's nearly impossible to guess. When you're editing, you're given another, nearly-impossible-to-guess ID. So while technically not impossible, viewing a list without knowing the ID is close to impossible, and editing a list is impossibl-er.

Can I share a super secret edit link with someone?

Only if you completely trust them. There are no granular permissions; you can either edit a list, or you can't. Choose wisely.

Are you ever going to add <X> feature?

You can always check out the roadmap above to see if <X> is on the list, otherwise, the answer is most definitely "maybe."

What should I use CinchList for?

Any list needs you have, ordered or unordered. Anything fits if it meets the definition (List: a number of connected items or names written or printed consecutively, typically one below the other.) Nested lists are the only thing that don't fit neatly, although, see prior answer about <X> feature (tl;dr: "Maybe")
